Byron Poem

I hear the sound of waves on the shore,
And soaks up the everlasting heat,
There’s nothing more that I could wish for,
As the sand buries my feet.

They bring joy, like playful birds,
Floating and dancing in the breeze.
Their smiles are like words,
 That put me at ease.

The stars glisten in the cloudless sky,
And we lie here in the cold, dry sand around the fire,
We reminisce about the time that went by,
And relax under the beauty of the night that we admire.

The love, the pure bliss, the cheer,
These memories can never be replaced.
The fear that the end is coming near,
Puts all the time we have to no waste.

How does the poem use imagination and feeling over reason?
This poem utilizes feeling and imagination over reason in many ways.  By emphasizing the poem’s theme of happiness and togetherness, emotion tends to triumph over analytic reasoning.  In addition, this poem describes the beauty of nature.  With the description and words that I use to portray the setting, the reader hopefully imagines a day at the beach with their friends or family.
